The Stewarding Manager role at Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club is a vital leadership position within the Food and Beverage Division. This full-time role involves comprehensive oversight of the Stewarding Department, ensuring that all facets run smoothly and efficiently while upholding the high standards expected of the Four Seasons brand. The Stewarding Manager is responsible for the proper use, care, and preventive maintenance of all departmental machinery and equipment, ensuring operational excellence and longevity of resources. Additionally, the manager must expertly organize inventory control, budgeting, and procurement of essential supplies such as china, glassware, and silverware across the entire Food and Beverage division.

The incumbent will lead and develop a team of stewarding staff through effective training, supervision, and motivation, fostering an environment of safety, cleanliness, and collaboration. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining rigorous sanitation schedules and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards for all kitchens, storage facilities, and employee areas. The position demands budgetary acumen to control labor costs and optimize operating expenses, contributing directly to the financial success of the department.

Ideal candidates for this position will bring prior management experience in food and beverage operations, particularly within banquets, restaurants, or kitchen stewarding environments. A background in hospitality management is preferred but not mandatory if accompanied by relevant hands-on experience. Excellence in leadership, organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with multiple departments are crucial attributes for success in this role. Job Requirements

  • Previous rooms management experience
  • Knowledge of kitchen and floor cleaning equipment
  • Experience working with banquets, restaurants and kitchens
  • Ability to lead, motivate and discipline a diverse team
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience in Food and Beverage management preferred

Job Duties

  • Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees in the Stewarding Department to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met
  • Ensure the organization and sanitation of all kitchens, storage areas, employee dining room, waste receptacle areas, compactor room, carts, tables, and Stewarding Department equipment and machinery through constant monitoring and adherence to a vigorous cleaning schedule
  • Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory control
  • Ensure proper use and provide regular care, security and maintenance of machinery and equipment used in the Stewarding Department
  • Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met as well as attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments
