Job Description
Hilton is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining the highest standards of service. Founded in 1919, Hilton has established itself as a beacon of innovation, quality, and success within the lodging sector, which spans from luxurious full-service hotels and resorts to extended-stay suites and mid-priced hotels. With nearly a century of experience, Hilton offers business and leisure travelers a variety of exceptional accommodations, services, amenities, and value, all designed to provide a memorable and comfortable stay. The company's vision to "fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality" inspires its dedicated team to create remarkable hospitality experiences around the world every day.
The Utility Steward role at Hilton is essential in supporting the operations of the hotel’s food and beverage services. This position is responsible for transporting and cleaning cooking utensils and service ware, playing a critical role in ensuring the smooth and hygienic functioning of the kitchen and dining areas. Reporting to the culinary and service management teams, the Steward contributes directly to the hotel's ongoing efforts to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. The pay range for this position ranges from $23 to $24 hourly, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
As a Utility Steward, your main responsibility will be to maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and service areas by managing all cooking utensils, chinaware, silverware, and service ware. This includes washing dishes and operating dishwashing equipment to ensure all items are cleaned to the highest standards, scrubbing pots and pans, and burnishing and polishing silver to maintain its exquisite appearance. You will also be responsible for stocking and maintaining supplies and equipment, performing cleaning duties such as mopping floors and removing trash, and transporting and storing clean service ware in preparation for events and daily functions.
Additionally, you may be called upon to train other stewards, sharing your knowledge and promoting operational efficiency across the team. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a spotless environment will directly contribute to guest satisfaction and the hotel’s reputation for excellence. Hilton values qualities such as hospitality, integrity, leadership, teamwork, ownership, and a sense of urgency — all traits that are crucial for success in this role.
Working at Hilton means being part of a forward-thinking and supportive team dedicated to fostering quality, productivity, dependability, customer focus, and adaptability. Hilton encourages its team members to uphold these values while embracing the opportunity to grow professionally in a dynamic and rewarding hospitality environment. With a rich history rooted in delivering excellence and a clear vision of future growth, Hilton offers a workplace where every employee plays a vital part in creating unforgettable experiences for guests worldwide.
