The Steward/Dishwasher position at the Baltimore Convention Center is an essential role within Levy’s operations, focused on maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to operate large kitchen equipment safely
  • experience in dishwashing or steward duties preferred
  • ability to follow sanitation guidelines
  • good physical condition and stamina
  • availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • basic communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • prior experience in a foodservice or kitchen steward role is advantageous
  • ability to operate industrial kitchen equipment safely
  • basic knowledge of sanitation and safety standards
  • ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
  • good physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks and standing for extended periods

Job Duties

  • sweep and mop floors at appropriate intervals to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards
  • operate large electric machines such as dishwashers, sanitizers, trash compactors, and glass crushers
  • wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks and all other food prep surfaces as assigned
  • segregate and remove trash and garbage and place it in designated containers
  • steam clean or hose out garbage cans in appropriate and assigned areas
  • wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils and other food preparation machines and equipment
  • transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas observing all safe lifting standards
  • assist with banquet table and front of the house set up as requested
  • assist with loading or unloading and delivering supplies and product
  • distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment as needed
  • comply with all outlined sanitation and safety requirements
  • perform other duties as assigned
