The role of Steward / Dishwasher at HHM Hotels is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas, thereby supporting a smooth and efficient food service operation. Additional responsibilities include sweeping and washing floors, cleaning trash cans, sorting and disposing of trash in designated areas, and occasionally assisting with food preparation during staffing shortages or high demand periods. The position demands adherence to safety protocols including the use of protective safety equipment and compliance with MSDS and OSHA standards to ensure a safe working environment. Practicing sustainable work habits aligned with HHM’s EarthView program is another integral part of the role, demonstrating the company's commitment to environmental responsibility.
Employment in this position often requires flexibility in work schedules as shifts may include holidays, weekends, and other irregular hours. The Steward / Dishwasher will be expected to stand for extended periods, walk frequently, lift loads up to 50 pounds, and perform various physical activities such as bending, reaching, stooping, and kneeling. Job Duties

- operate dishwashing and other kitchen cleaning equipment
- place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas
- maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition
- stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars
- sweep and wash floors and clean trash cans
- sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas
- perform food preparation functions in the event of staffing shortages or during peak periods
- be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction
