The role primarily involves operating and maintaining cleaning equipment such as dishwashers, hand-washing stations, pot scrubbing areas, and garbage compactors to ensure that the kitchen and storage areas remain spotless and sanitary. Responsibilities include washing and disinfecting various kitchen surfaces, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment, managing deliveries of perishable goods, and properly storing items while rotating stock to preserve freshness. The fast-paced environment requires meticulous attention to detail, such as using chemical detergents and disinfectants properly in a three-compartment sink to wash dishes and inspecting, sorting, and organizing clean and dirty items appropriately. Employees are also expected to handle waste management tasks like emptying garbage bins, maintaining disposal areas, recycling cardboard and glass responsibly, and ensuring all cleaning protocols comply with company safety standards.
Physical demands are part of the everyday duties, including moving and lifting objects up to 50 pounds without assistance, standing or walking for extended periods, reaching overhead and under knees, bending, twisting, and other related movements.
