The position primarily focuses on operating and maintaining cleaning equipment such as dishwashing machines, hand wash and pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout kitchen and storage areas by washing and disinfecting various tools, tables, knives, and equipment to meet rigorous sanitation standards. Additionally, the role involves receiving deliveries, proper storage and rotation of perishables, and ensuring clean wares are stored correctly.
As a team member, one must use detergents, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals effectively within a three-compartment sink to clean dishes and inspect cleaned items for quality assurance. Sorting, soaking, washing, and re-washing silverware, breaking down dirty bus tubs, managing trashcans and dumpster areas, as well as recycling duties, form core components of this position. The role also entails cleaning and mopping assigned departments and safely disposing of glass and cardboard.
Safety and security compliance is crucial; the successful candidate is expected to follow all company policies, report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management, and complete relevant safety training and certifications. The work environment requires physical capabilities such as standing or walking for extended periods, lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and performing movements including bending, stooping, and twisting.

Job Duties
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment including dish washing machines and trash compactors
- wash and disinfect kitchen and storage areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
- receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock
- use detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals to clean dishes
- inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items and send soiled items back for re-washing
- rack and spray all racked items to remove food residue
- sort, soak, wash and re-wash silverware
- breakdown dirty bus tubs
