The role primarily involves the physical upkeep and sanitation of essential kitchen components, including washing dishes, pots, pans, trays, and glassware. The Steward also manages waste disposal, recycling processes, and the organization of stock and supplies. Additionally, this role includes assisting with basic food preparation tasks such as washing and peeling vegetables when required, as well as setting up banquet tables, highlighting the position’s flexibility and team support function. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • previous experience in stewarding, kitchen support, or hospitality preferred
  • familiarity with commercial dishwashing equipment and cleaning procedures a plus

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in stewarding, kitchen support, or hospitality preferred

Job Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness by sweeping and mopping floors regularly
  • wash dishes, pots, pans, trays, and glassware by hand or using dishwashing equipment
  • clean and sanitize worktables, walls, refrigerators, and other kitchen surfaces
  • properly dispose of trash and garbage
  • clean and maintain garbage cans
  • sort and process bottles and other recyclables
  • polish silverware and utensils as needed
  • transport supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
  • assist with banquet table setup when required
  • wash and peel vegetables or assist with basic food prep as needed
  • store and rotate stock in designated areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization
  • other duties as assigned
