The Steward role at Heritage Hotels & Resorts is a vital position that directly supports the culinary and service teams by maintaining a clean and organized kitchen and back-of-house environment. Exceptional service within a kitchen starts with sanitation, and as a Steward, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all kitchen and dishwashing areas meet the highest cleanliness and safety standards. This role requires attention to detail and efficiency as it helps facilitate the overall flow and operation of the kitchen, making it a cornerstone for guest satisfaction and safety.
In this role, you will operate dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen tools, ensuring all items are properly handled, stored, and organized after cleaning. You will actively support kitchen operations through restocking supplies and assisting with cleaning tasks that maintain the high standards Heritage Hotels & Resorts is known for. Your responsibilities will also include removing trash, recycling, and compost to maintain a safe environment, cleaning floors, drains, walls, and equipment according to sanitation guidelines, and following all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations meticulously.
Additionally, the Steward role includes assisting with banquet and event breakdowns, which involves cleaning and storing equipment, thus contributing to the smooth running of special events hosted within the properties. Communication and teamwork are crucial as you will be maintaining positive, professional interactions with culinary and service teams to uphold a collaborative work environment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-concept environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing demands
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
- Flexible availability including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend for extended periods and lift up to 40+ pounds

- Ensure proper handling, storage, and organization of all cleaned items
- Support kitchen operations by restocking supplies and assisting with basic cleaning tasks
- Remove trash, recycling, and compost while maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Clean floors, drains, walls, and equipment according to sanitation standards
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
- Assist with banquet and event breakdown, including equipment cleaning and storage
