The current opportunity is for a full-time, non-management position within the Food and Beverage & Culinary category at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa. This role focuses on crucial kitchen and sanitation operations, specifically the maintenance and cleaning of kitchen equipment and tools such as dishwashers, hand washing stations, pot scrubbing stations, and waste compactors. The primary responsibility includes ensuring all kitchen and storage areas are washed and disinfected regularly, maintaining cleanliness of tables, utensils, knives, and equipment to meet the highest hygiene standards.

This position demands attention to detail and adherence to company policies to guarantee the quality and safety of all culinary operations while supporting the broader goal of delivering an exceptional guest experience. The candidate will be responsible for receiving deliveries, proper storage and rotation of perishable goods, and ensuring that cleaned dishware is stored appropriately. The role includes the correct use of chemical detergents, disinfectants, and rinse agents when using triple-compartment sinks to clean dishware, and the inspection, stacking, and re-washing of dirty items when necessary.

Additional duties involve waste management practices such as emptying trash bins, maintaining waste disposal areas, recycling cardboard and glass according to recycling protocols, and consistently following safety policies and procedures. Employees in this role must communicate effectively using clear and professional language and contribute positively to a collaborative work environment. Physical demands include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Job Duties

  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools including dishwashers, hand washing stations, pot scrubbing stations, and waste compactors
  • Wash and sanitize kitchen and storage areas, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment
  • Receive deliveries and properly store perishable products, rotating stock
  • Ensure clean dishware is stored appropriately
  • Use chemical detergents, disinfectants, and rinse agents in a three-compartment sink to wash dishware
  • Inspect, stack clean items, and rewash dirty items if necessary
  • Empty trash bins and maintain waste disposal areas
  • Recycle cardboard, glass, and other recyclables according to policies
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, report accidents and hazards
  • Communicate professionally and support team goals
