Job Duties

  • Gathers all dirty dishware from tubs and rinses and stacks in dishracks after clearing dishes of leftovers and trash
  • loads full dishracks on belt and ensures correct placement for the operation of the machine
  • operates automatic dishwashing machine using the controls as instructed
  • loads dishwashing solutions into automatic dispensers and regulates the output of detergents and chemicals by monitoring and adjusting controls
  • unloads clean dishes from racks, inspects for cleanliness and carefully stacks them in specified carts and shelves
  • manually scrubs pots, pans and other kitchen equipment using detergents and special solutions
  • inspects and manually dries cleaned items, then puts them away correctly
  • polishes all silver, stainless steel and pewter used in food service to maintain presentation standards
  • maintains dishwashing equipment in good condition following manufacturer instructions to prevent breakdowns and meet health compliance regulations
  • keeps the dish room clean and orderly by sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, wiping counters and organizing shelves
  • mops kitchen floors and cleans all kitchen work surfaces regularly as scheduled
  • empties trash cans into outside trash compactor at the end of shifts
  • sweeps loading dock and kitchen entrance areas to clear litter and ensure safety
  • performs other duties as assigned by management
