Job Description

The Nisqually Indian Tribe is a sovereign nation dedicated to improving the economic viability and quality of life for its members, team members, and neighboring communities. Rooted deeply in their values of integrity, communication, accountability, respect, and teamwork, the tribe emphasizes creating incredible experiences and fostering growth within its community. The tribe supports sustainable development, empowerment, and career growth opportunities especially tailored for its tribal members. Their mission revolves around enhancing the continued prosperity and well-being of the tribe and its surroundings, making it a strong cultural and economic pillar in the region. The tribe operates various departments and initiatives aiming to provide career pathways, essential skills, and lifelong work competencies for tribal members to succeed in diverse fields.

The Lead Valet Attendant Apprenticeship position offered by the Nisqually Indian Tribe’s Marketing Department is a unique hands-on learning experience designed specifically for Nisqually Tribal members. This apprenticeship program is intended to equip candidates with the necessary career skills in guest services and vehicle handling within the casino environment. The role aims to develop future leaders in the Valet Department by providing direct mentorship and training under experienced personnel in the Marketing Department. Apprentices begin by learning the operational responsibilities of a Valet Attendant, including safely managing vehicles, providing excellent customer service, and supporting casino promotional activities. Over time, candidates will be prepared to advance into the Lead Valet Attendant role, where they will take on increased responsibility for supervising valet operations, guiding other valet attendants, and ensuring compliance with safety and service standards.

This full-time apprenticeship requires candidates to be willing learners, committed to earning a GED or high school diploma if not already obtained, and able to work all shifts including weekends and holidays. The position offers an opportunity to gain professional credentials such as a Class II Gaming License, and to work in an active, dynamic environment with the community’s cultural values at the core of service delivery. Candidates must possess a valid Washington State Driver’s License with a clean driving record, and they must demonstrate a strong understanding of traffic safety and vehicle handling. Physical stamina is essential due to the active nature of the job, which often entails standing or running for extensive periods and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. The apprenticeship program is designed with a focus on communication skills, sound judgment, and teamwork, ensuring that graduates of the program are well-rounded, professional, and prepared to contribute meaningfully to the tribe’s economic development and guest service excellence.
