- Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment

- gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions
- collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company and store goals
- prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and customer requests using proper equipment
- tender transactions using company best practices
- offer product samples and inform customers of specials
- provide fresh products with correct portion size to prevent shrink
- recommend coffee shop items to customers
- use all coffee shop equipment according to company guidelines
- prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell by dates
- properly use kitchen equipment, espresso machine, blender, computerized scale and steamer
- label, stock and inventory department merchandise
- report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager
- stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and notify store management of unsafe conditions
- adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
- practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notify appropriate manager of repairs needed
- notify management of customer or employee accidents and report all safety risks or illegal activity to store management
- work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
- act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
- perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
