The role involves gaining and maintaining detailed product knowledge to respond effectively to customer inquiries and to make helpful product recommendations.

The position also involves preparing beverages to recipe and quality standards and serving products that meet customers' requests, ensuring accuracy in portion sizes to minimize shrinkage. The employee will use various coffee shop equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens, espresso machines, blenders, computerized scales, and steamers according to company guidelines, helping to maintain product quality, safety, and freshness. Regular inventory management duties such as labeling, stocking, and inventory checks are also integral parts of the job.

Promoting teamwork with other store associates is vital to achieving company and store goals, along with demonstrating a cooperative and positive attitude in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful work environment. The role demands adherence to safety procedures, proactive identification and reporting of unsafe conditions, accidents, or suspicious activity, and ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations. The employee must also practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and informing management of any repair needs.

Additionally, the employee will have responsibilities involving community support, including direct interaction and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults, underlining the company’s commitment to being a responsible community member. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to manage conflict with respect and cooperation, and a strong sense of integrity concerning customer and business information.
