The Team Member role at Applegreen is a non-exempt position that reports directly to the General Manager. This role is vital in ensuring that the travel plazas operate smoothly and efficiently, particularly during the peak seasons. The company recruits Seasonal Associates who play a critical role during busy periods, generally from April through September. The Team Member’s responsibilities are multifaceted but center around providing outstanding customer service to travelers, ensuring food preparation and handling meets strict industry standards, managing transactions via point-of-sale systems, and maintaining cleanliness and stock of both the kitchen and retail spaces. The role requires an individual who is enthusiastic about customer engagement, able to work efficiently and safely, and capable of working flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Individuals in this position will also have the opportunity to develop knowledge of the wide variety of products and services available at the plazas, allowing them to effectively cross-sell and up-sell to enhance the customer experience. Moreover, this role demands a high degree of physical activity such as standing for long periods, lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, and bending or twisting frequently. - Able to stand and walk for extended periods
- frequently bend, twist, lift, and carry at least 40 pounds
- ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions and policies

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous customer service experience preferred
- basic math skills for handling transactions
- ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines

Job Duties
- Provide friendly customer service by engaging positively with travelers
- operate point-of-sale system and process payments accurately
- ensure proper food handling including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and temperature checks
- complete kitchen tasks such as prepping, thawing, cooking, packaging, wrapping, and cleaning
- stock, clean, and sanitize workstations and equipment
- actively cross-sell and up-sell products
- maintain knowledge of plaza products and services
- follow brand standards, food safety requirements, and company policies
- perform other assigned tasks as needed
