Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate from an accredited program or higher degree
  • two or more years of experience in a restaurant, or hotel, or food service, or hospital setting
  • ServSafe certification within 90 days of start date

  • ability to provide constructive feedback and leads by example
  • ability to function with minimal supervision and is comfortable making personnel and operational decisions in the absence of a supervisor or manager
  • ability to read and follow written instructions and recipes
  • ability to use proper phone etiquette, scripting calls and following protocols
  • intermediate computer skills and the ability to operate the food service computer system and point of sale cash register
  • ability to perform basic mathematic calculations
  • ability to work independently with excellent organizational skills, sound judgment and attention to detail
  • ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • ability to work in a high volume and high stress environment with varying hours and shifts

Job Duties

  • Assists with beverage preparation adhering to presentation standards
  • operates a variety of beverage making equipment
  • measures and mixes ingredients for coffee shop drinks according to recipe
  • stocks and maintains line supplies
  • follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products
  • assists with side duties as needed
  • leads and monitors a team of baristas assisting with beverage preparation, cashiering and cash handling
  • follows department cash handling procedures
  • enforces department and organizational policies
  • assists in opening and closing the coffee shop
  • writes employee schedules, daily cleaning schedules, and coordinates employee paid time off schedule
  • completes weekly orders and coordinates orders with FNS buyer ensuring supplies to par levels
  • responsible for maintaining and completing a daily pull sheet to keep track of raw material expenses and monthly inventory counts
  • communicates effectively with patients, customers, coworkers, and FNS leadership ensuring customer satisfaction and the effective flow of operations
  • ensures signage is accurate and clean
  • implements promotional specials for the coffee shop and provides recommendations for future promotions
  • follows HACCP and ServSafe procedures to ensure proper sanitation and safety standards including accurate records
  • coordinates equipment and facility maintenance work orders for the coffee shop
  • assists as needed with retail operations in the Greenhouse Grill
  • acts as primary leadership team member when supervisor, manager or director are unavailable
