Spanning across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, BGC is committed to building a vibrant community-focused workplace where employees—referred to as partners—are valued, supported, and encouraged to grow. This company is well known for its comprehensive benefits, including medical, vision, dental, and prescription coverage, plus employee discounts and a 401(k) plan, emphasizing wellness, financial security, and educational development. Employees also enjoy paid time off along with exclusive access to a 205-acre outdoor recreational area, fostering a balanced lifestyle with opportunities to unwind and connect.
The Barista role at Brookshire Grocery Company is more than a typical entry-level position; it is a critical part of the company’s customer experience team. Baristas are responsible for preparing, brewing, and serving coffee as well as other related beverages such as espresso drinks and teas. This position involves extensive interaction with customers, necessitating a friendly, customer-service-oriented attitude to make every guest's visit memorable. The role requires working flexible schedules which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Baristas are also expected to promote product sales through suggestive selling techniques, contribute to efficient store operations by organizing stock, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
The company emphasizes safety and quality in all store operations, mandating that employees adhere to health and safety protocols while using digital equipment and hazardous tools like espresso machines and coffee grinders. Baristas receive training through the Starbucks Barista Basics Training Program, ensuring they possess the technical skills and operational knowledge to meet the company’s high standards.
Brookshire Grocery Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer, fostering an inclusive environment where differences are respected. They provide a safe, drug and alcohol-free workplace and make employment decisions without regard to protected personal characteristics such as race, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, or military status. Choosing to join BGC means entering a career that offers not just a job, but a pathway for personal growth, career advancement, and community impact.
