Job Description

Rhino Staging, LLC is a nationally recognized leader in the live event industry, well-established since its founding in 1991. The company has built its reputation on a core philosophy: doing things right and treating people well. This approach has allowed Rhino Staging to become the premier provider of the safest and most proficient professional stage crews across the United States. Focusing on the high standards of integrity, safety, and professional development, Rhino Staging has pioneered numerous positive innovations in the entertainment industry over the years. They handle concerts, festivals, corporate events, and other large-scale live productions, ensuring every event runs smoothly behind the scenes with skill and professionalism.

The current opportunity opened at Rhino Staging is for General Labor & Skilled Stagehands to join their dynamic team on a part-time, on-call basis. This role supports concert tours, festivals, and various live events primarily in and around Columbia. It offers a unique chance for individuals who love live entertainment and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment to gain hands-on experience with the technical and physical aspects of event production. With shifts scheduled as needed per event, this W2 part-time role demands flexibility, including availability during nights, weekends, and holidays. The hours are variable, reflecting the nature of live event schedules, and there is no guaranteed minimum number of hours per week or month.

Stagehands in this position play a crucial role in the success of live events by facilitating the setup, operation, and breakdown of equipment that supports performances and corporate gatherings. Candidates with a positive, can-do attitude will thrive as part of the collaborative crew, contributing to the seamless execution of large-scale productions. This is an excellent entry-point for those interested in exploring the backstage mechanics of touring shows and large events, providing opportunities to learn industry-standard terminology, safety protocols, and stagehand techniques.

Rhino Staging emphasizes a work culture centered on respect, safety, and continuous learning. Crew members are expected to perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy equipment, maintaining endurance to stand and work in changing weather conditions proudly representing Rhino’s policies. Effective communication in English is critical for safety and coordination, especially when working with heavy machinery and elevated structures. Ideal candidates should be willing to adapt to different roles and work cohesively with other team members and supervisors.

Joining Rhino Staging means becoming part of a company that values equal employment opportunities, diversity, and non-discrimination. The company is committed to providing an inclusive workplace environment and encourages applicants from all backgrounds to apply. Additionally, Rhino Staging participates in E-Verify to ensure employment eligibility while not using it for pre-screening candidates. Employees needing accommodations for the application process or work environment can reach out for support, ensuring a fair and accessible hiring process.

This part-time stagehand position is a stepping stone for those passionate about live events and production, offering practical experience and potential career growth within the events industry. While no minimum hours are guaranteed, the role provides a flexible and engaging way to work in live entertainment and build skills in a high-demand area. If you have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and interest in behind-the-scenes event production, Rhino Staging invites you to apply and become part of their trusted team committed to excellence in live event staging.
