Located in Tacoma, the company stands as a key player in maritime logistics, committed to maintaining high standards in facility management, operational efficiency, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction. TOTE Maritime Alaska is distinguished by its robust approach to integrating advanced technology, regulatory adherence, and workforce development in the maritime and terminal operations sector. The company focuses on providing excellent vessel cargo handling and yard maintenance services that facilitate smooth and timely transit of goods while ensuring environmental and security protocols are met consistently.

The Senior Operations Manager role at TOTE Maritime Alaska is a pivotal leadership position that demands strategic oversight and operational management of the Tacoma terminal's yard maintenance and cargo operations. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range from $102,000 to $193,500, with an expected target salary between $150,000 and $175,000, depending on experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. The Senior Operations Manager supervises terminal and cargo management staff, oversees daily load and discharge activities, and coordinates closely with stevedoring teams, vessel groups, and maintenance departments to ensure seamless vessel operations. The position also requires application and execution of annual operating budgets, collaboration with customers on complex freight requirements including oversize and hazardous cargo, and supervision to meet TOTE Maritime Alaska's securement and regulatory standards.

Key competencies required include a comprehensive knowledge of terminal and maritime operations, excellent leadership skills, advanced proficiency with enterprise systems such as Infor FSM, Adaptive Planning, and Hexagon EAM, and a strong grasp of regulatory compliance including U.S. Coast Guard rules and environmental standards. The role demands the ability to strategically plan and resolve operational challenges, maintain effective communications with internal teams and customers, and navigate organized labor standards and union relations effectively. The Senior Operations Manager must also be prepared to work extended hours including weekends and holidays as necessary to support timely vessel operations.

Overall, this role is ideal for a seasoned operations professional with a background in logistics, engineering, or related fields, and a significant track record in maritime or terminal management. Joining TOTE Maritime Alaska as a Senior Operations Manager offers the opportunity to lead within a dynamic operational environment, applying strategic management and technical expertise to drive operational excellence, safety, and customer service quality at one of Tacoma’s leading maritime terminals.
