Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of sterile processing experience
- Sterile Processing certification: CRCST or CSPDT
- Demonstrated skills to safely perform assigned duties
- Proficiency in English communication
- Ability to wear appropriate protective attire
- Strong team player and customer service focus
- Basic computer skills
- Problem-solving and critical thinking ability
- Proper phone etiquette
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Two years of sterile processing experience
- Sterile Processing certification such as CRCST or CSPDT
- Demonstrated proficiency in sterilization techniques and surgical instrument handling
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of safety procedures and universal precautions
- Competency in basic computer programs including Microsoft Office
- Experience in mentoring and coaching staff
- Ability to maintain consistent workflow under pressure
Job Duties
- Maintain high standards for decontamination, assembly, inspecting, wrapping, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment
- Work in conjunction with Operating Room staff to provide timely sterile products, trays, and case carts
- Maintain consistent and continuous workflow between OR and Sterile Processing
- Practice excellent customer service toward patients, physicians, and co-workers
- Serve as preceptor and mentor to staff and students
- Participate in department improvement activities and quality assurance processes
- Perform sterilization using advanced techniques such as steam, ETO, and hydrogen peroxide
- Identify and prioritize sterile products based on surgery schedules
- Promote a positive work environment and team collaboration
- Manage departmental resources efficiently and identify cost-saving measures
- Follow safety protocols including Universal Precautions and appropriate protective attire
- Use computer systems to track instruments and trays
- Demonstrate problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Provide training and educational presentations within the department
- Participate in Shared Governance and organizational committees
