We are currently seeking a Senior Sales Manager to join our dynamic sales and marketing team. This role reports directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing and plays a pivotal role in driving new business by actively prospecting and qualifying potential clients. The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for producing and reviewing sales contracts, rate agreements, and banquet/catering event orders specifically for the assigned group segment. Beyond sales, the position includes significant leadership responsibilities, acting as a support to the Director of Sales & Marketing on a daily basis and stepping in during their absence.
The ideal candidate will be a leader within the department, capable of managing inquiry calls and emails, preparing client proposals adhering to departmental policies, and conducting site inspections, special events, and off-site presentations to engage potential clients effectively. A critical part of the role includes meeting or exceeding monthly and quarterly revenue and room night goals, ensuring the hotel's sales objectives are consistently achieved. Additionally, this role requires producing monthly sales-related reports and forecasts to inform strategic decision making.
This role also involves representing the hotel at key trade shows, conventions, and sales trips to major feeder markets, enhancing brand visibility and establishing strong market presence. The Senior Sales Manager will attend important internal meetings focused on revenue maximization, forecasting, and sales strategy to help shape the department’s priorities. They will also serve as a mentor to new managers, guiding them in setting career goals and managing day-to-day responsibilities. Acting as a key decision-maker for groups and catering business in the absence of senior leaders, this role demands a proactive and resourceful leader who can manage multiple facets of sales efficiently.
Further responsibilities include collaborating on special projects such as organizing quarterly blitz campaigns, designing promotions for high-demand dates alongside the Director of Sales & Marketing and Ecommerce manager, and innovating new high-level group proposals. The Senior Sales Manager is also expected to attend and represent the hotel at high-profile events within the Boston area and participate actively in daily business reviews to ensure ongoing operational excellence.
Candidates should be prepared to undertake travel to attend workshops, tradeshows, and conventions and may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. This full-time position offers a comprehensive opportunity to advance in the luxury hospitality sales field with a prestigious international brand. The salary range for this position is competitive and will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, location, and performance. We invite passionate sales professionals with a proven background in hotel sales to apply for this exciting opportunity and start their journey with us today.
