Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Expert knowledge of substance abuse case management
  • Experience in regulatory compliance environments
  • Familiarity with DOT/FAA drug and alcohol regulations
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and handle time constraints

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to perform work duties in an office environment for extended periods
  • English language proficiency
  • Must be U.S. citizen or have work authorization without sponsorship
  • Minimum age of 18
  • Compliance with company attendance standards
  • Availability for 24-hour on-call service including some holidays and weekends
  • Maintenance of well-groomed appearance per company standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Expert level experience in case management within substance abuse or social crisis programs
  • Extensive knowledge in regulatory compliance including DOT/FAA drug and alcohol regulations
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently
  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to handle confidential and stressful situations professionally
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Job Duties

  • Manage FAA Human Intervention Motivation Study (HIMS) and pilot medical licensing programs
  • Serve as company representative to FAA Office of Aerospace Medicine and regional medical examiners
  • Provide guidance on medical disqualification criteria and personnel management to leadership
  • Collaborate with physicians on program management and treatment options
  • Offer counsel to Base Chief Pilots, employee associations, and Drug & Alcohol teams regarding pilot medical and licensing issues
  • Assist pilots with medical, DUI, and arrest issues affecting FAA medical licenses
  • Negotiate and administer contracts with treatment centers
  • Participate in inter-carrier support for drug and alcohol and HIMS related matters
  • Serve as Flight Operations liaison in the company’s Drug and Alcohol Program
  • Oversee medical oversight of pilots on inactive status or medical leave
  • Support contract teams in establishing benefits for long-term leave and disability
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts for medical service providers
  • Coordinate medically related issues with Base Chief Pilots and Network Operations Center (NOC) Chief Pilot
  • Perform other duties as directed by leadership
