The University of Miami Hospital & Clinics - Food Services UTower is currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Food Services team member to join their staff. This full-time position involves working 40 hours per week across various shifts including days, evenings, and nights, aligning with the service needs and availability requirements. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation and pleasant atmosphere of the dining areas within the hospital and clinic facilities. The role centers on maintaining cleanliness, stocking, customer service, and supporting overall food service operations.

The Food Services position involves key responsibilities such as cleaning and stocking dining areas, monitoring food levels and coordinating with senior staff to replenish supplies, laundering kitchen towels, and maintaining cleanliness of equipment and serving areas. It also includes erecting, dismantling, cleaning, and storing dining room furniture, facilitating correct order processing to ensure customers receive accurate food items, and managing crowd flow to reduce wait times. Given the healthcare environment, adhering to university and unit-level policies and safeguarding institutional assets is a high priority. The role requires a commitment to creating a pleasant and hospitable environment within the dining spaces, involving proactive tasks to secure the dining room at closing. Job Duties

  • Cleans and stocks the assigned dining area
  • Ensures food stations are fully stocked
  • Monitors food levels and reports need to appropriate senior staff member
  • Launders kitchen towels and keeps equipment and server clean at all times
  • Erects, dismantles, cleans, and stores dining room furniture
  • Makes note of the orders placed and ensures customers receive the correct food items
  • Creates a pleasant ambiance in the dining room area
  • Assists in the handling of crowds efficiently to reduce wait time
  • Secures the dining room when closing for the day
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets
