Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • two years cashiering experience in high-volume retail or hospitality
  • must obtain Texas Food Handlers Certification within 30 days
  • ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
  • must be able to work 9am to 5:30pm shifts with flexibility to rotate venues
  • strong attention to detail
  • ability to work onsite at Texas Medical Center

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • two years cashiering experience in high-volume retail or hospitality
  • ability to operate POS systems
  • strong customer service skills
  • capable of training new employees
  • knowledge of cash handling procedures
  • valid Texas Food Handlers Certificate or ability to obtain within 30 days

Job Duties

  • Verify assigned cash bank and set up register
  • perform cash handling transactions per guidelines
  • check out customers accurately with receipts and change
  • prepare and verify daily sales totals
  • deposit money securely at shift end
  • provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff
  • train new cashiers
  • update menus and monitor cafeteria operations
  • maintain inventory by replenishing supplies
  • ensure safe and sanitary work areas
  • perform cashier audits and monitor breaks
  • communicate staffing issues to management
