Henderson Sports & Social is an expansive, state-of-the-art sports and recreational facility covering 180,000 square feet and set to open its doors in 2026. Located in the vibrant community of Henderson, this premier destination is designed to serve as a hub for youth sports tournaments and events, while also providing numerous recreational resources for local residents. The facility is crafted to cater to a variety of sporting and entertainment interests, creating a dynamic environment for both athletes and families alike. It features multi-sport capabilities, including basketball courts that can be converted into volleyball and pickleball courts, as well as versatile indoor turf fields designed for indoor soccer, box lacrosse, flag football, and baseball.
In addition to its sporting facilities, Henderson Sports & Social offers community-centric spaces that include a fitness center, flexible meeting rooms, and versatile event areas to accommodate a wide array of activities beyond sports. The role available is a full-time, salaried position focused on the development and implementation of sports programming within this innovative venue. As the Sports Programming Manager, the primary responsibility lies in planning, facilitating, and managing youth and adult tournaments and event programming. This position requires a proactive individual with exceptional relationship-building skills, as interaction with community members, youth athletes, coaches, parents, and event stakeholders is pivotal. The ability to foster strong connections with event rights holders and related organizations is essential to maximize event attendance and drive traffic to the facility.
This position demands high personal drive, determination, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, engaging environment that is centered around sports and community involvement. The Sports Programming Manager will spearhead the development of a seasonal tournament calendar, ensure seamless coordination of events across multiple departments, and actively participate in community and municipal meetings to promote the facility’s offerings. Additionally, they must routinely evaluate marketing strategies and facility operations, recommending improvements to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in sports league and tournament management, particularly within youth sports or recreation industries, coupled with financial acumen in budgeting and fiscal management. Effective communication skills, strategic planning capabilities, and the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, are crucial for success in this role. Supervision of sports operations or direct staff may also be part of the position, requiring leadership capabilities.

Job Requirements
- BA or BS degree preferred
- 5 years applicable sports league or tournament management experience, preferably in the youth sports or recreation industry
- Demonstrated experience in budget development, fiscal management, strategic planning, staff management, marketing, sales, public relations and community relations
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to analyze and solve problems
- Able to handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision
- Willing to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- Positive attitude and professional appearance
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Develop the seasonal tournament sports calendar that works within the expected season and calendar
- Build relationships with media, hotels, convention contacts, youth and adult sports associations, civic organizations, etc. to promote leagues, camps, special events, open play, and tournaments
- Develop and organize group outings, special events and tournaments and manage communication between departments to help ensure coordination of activities
- Maintain positive relationships and communicate clearly, tactfully, and persuasively with employees, customers and outside contacts as applicable
- Monitor facility activities and make recommendations to improve customer service and/or operational efficiencies
- Represent the Company in meetings and/or presentations with various clients, municipalities, and other outside agencies regarding the marketing related plans and strategies
- Review and analyze internal and external market information, which reflects customer purchase, usage, and satisfaction with Company products and services
- Monitor and track results of marketing and sales efforts, analyze budget variances and recommend revised action plans to achieve budgeted goals
