The Specialty Team Member role at Whole Foods Market is vital in delivering this mission by supporting the regional Specialty vision. This role encompasses receiving and preparing specialty products, maintaining fresh and attractive specialty floor displays, and actively selling products to delight customers. Team Members in this role contribute to minimizing waste through effective spoilage monitoring and stock management, and play a key role in executing sampling programs that enhance customer engagement and product appreciation.

Specialty Team Members are expected to consistently surprise and delight customers with fresh, high-quality foods, engage positively in selling efforts, and maintain visually appealing displays that meet Whole Foods Market’s standards. This role also requires strict adherence to health and safety regulations, including food safety and sanitation practices, and compliance with store Standard Operating Procedures. The ability to communicate effectively with fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors is essential, as is the willingness to assist with a variety of duties including opening, mid-shift, and closing tasks.
Physical demands of the role include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or walk for 6 to 8 hours in an eight-hour shift, and work in environments that may be wet, cold, or reach temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Team Members may also be required to use equipment such as box cutters and electric pallet jacks and work a flexible schedule encompassing nights, weekends, and holidays. Job Requirements
- No prior retail experience required
- must be able to lift 50 pounds
- ability to stand or walk 6-8 hours during an 8-hour shift
- ability to use hand motions such as single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- ability to perform motions including bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
- ability to work in wet and cold environments
- ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters and electric pallet jacks
- completion of TIPS course if serving alcohol
- must be 18 years of age or older

- Surprises and delights customers with consistent and delicious food

- monitors spoilage and supply waste to minimize impact on department expenses
- assists with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing
- maintains back stock in good order
