Employees at MGM Resorts enjoy a work environment filled with excitement and opportunity within one of the most fascinating industries in the world.

The role of Specialty Sous Chef at Mandalay Bay, part of the MGM Resorts family, offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals seeking to elevate their careers. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment where leadership and innovation are highly valued. As a Specialty Sous Chef, you will work alongside some of the most talented culinary experts to prepare distinctive and high-quality specialty dishes that meet the standards of excellence expected by the company. You will be instrumental in inspiring and leading kitchen teams to achieve operational efficiency while maintaining the highest levels of food quality and guest satisfaction. This role requires a passion for bold flavors, creative culinary techniques, and a strong commitment to leadership that energizes the kitchen staff and enhances the overall dining experience.

You will be responsible for monitoring customer flow and estimating daily food requirements to maintain adequate supply levels, which involves making timely requisitions. Training and development of kitchen team members is another vital component of this position, as well as overseeing the maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment to prevent operational disruptions. Leading food preparation during service periods and supervising the entire Food and Beverage team with a focus on effective staffing, performance management, and policy enforcement also falls under your purview.

Additionally, the Specialty Sous Chef plays a key role in guest relations by addressing complaints within the scope of their authority, escalating issues to management if necessary, and reporting unusual incidents to supervisors or security personnel. This role requires working varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of the hospitality and dining environment. MGM Resorts International offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees' professional growth, physical and mental wellness, and work-life balance, making this role an excellent career advancement opportunity within a prestigious company.
