Aramark is currently seeking a Cook to join their dynamic team. The Cook role is centered on food preparation, ensuring that recipes and production guidelines are followed accurately while allowing creativity to flourish in the kitchen. This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $29.00 to $30.00, reflecting Aramark's reasonable estimate of fair compensation for the role. The Cook will work surrounded by fresh ingredients and state-of-the-art kitchen equipment, gaining hands-on experience with a variety of cooking methods and cuisines. The duties of the Cook include preparing ingredients, cooking, baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, and arranging food while strictly adhering to food safety policies to ensure quality and sanitation. The Cook will also manage workstation setup, operate various kitchen equipment safely, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Maintaining excellent customer service and a positive demeanor towards guests, clients, and colleagues is essential. Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
  • ability to obtain food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • effective written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods
  • willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment as required

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc
  • bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
  • properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc
  • adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • ensures security of company assets
