Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience as a cook or in food preparation
- knowledge of food safety standards and handling procedures
- ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions
- good physical stamina
- strong attention to detail
- good communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- demonstrated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as food handling, sanitation, and storage
- must be able to acquire food safety certification
- demonstrate basic math and counting skills
- demonstrate interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- ability to work in a physically demanding role including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
- willingness to wear uniforms and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
Job Duties
- Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- safely use a variety of utensils including knives
- operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
- bake, roast, broil, steam, and use various cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
- properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
- maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, and co-workers
- adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
- ensure security of company assets
