The role of Special Events Specialist at Wynn Resorts is an integral position within the Special Events department, reporting directly to the Executive Director of Special Events. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive support in the planning, coordination, and execution of various types of events. The Special Events Specialist works closely with internal customers and executive management, ensuring seamless communication and the successful delivery of special events that foster positive engagement among guests and stakeholders alike. In addition to event coordination, the role encompasses essential office management and administrative duties that are crucial to maintaining an organized and efficient workflow within the department.
This position plays a vital role in assisting leadership personnel, including the Executive Director, Assistant Director, and Managers, in all facets of event preparation and implementation. Key responsibilities involve handling routine and complex assignments, managing expense reports, submitting maintenance and supply requests, and overseeing purchasing operations for event and office supplies. Furthermore, the Special Events Specialist provides specialized administrative support designed to relieve executives of demanding details while ensuring effective office procedures and harmonious relationships among team members, vendors, and clients.
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, which can involve working nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary. The specialist will assist with a wide range of event-related tasks, including gift assembly, credential preparation, registration, ticket distribution, guest seating, and event clean-up, supporting a variety of event types such as table games, poker tournaments, slot tournaments, golf events, resort celebrations, and off-property ticketed events.
Ideal applicants will possess a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a professional demeanor. They are expected to maintain confidentiality in compliance with casino regulations and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. - Minimum of two years of event planning experience or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Ability to handle a high-pressure environment
- Detail-oriented and able to multi-task

- Ability to work in a fast-paced busy somewhat stressful environment

Job Duties
- Assist Executive Director, Assistant Director, and Managers to plan, coordinate and implement events
- Perform a variety of routine and non-routine assignments for events
- Check and process expense reports
- Submit HotSos requests as needed including shred bin removal, general engineering maintenance and public area requests
- Manage purchasing including SWS orders, Office Max orders and create engineering project numbers
- Provide specialized administrative support to relieve and assist executives of complex details and administrative duties
- Complete all job-related tasks as assigned within the designated timeframe
- Assist the Special Events Team with all clerical functions
- Answer phones, take messages, file, run errands and make deliveries
- Check office voicemail 2-3 times a week
- Maintain Special Events e-mail inbox
- Assist with gift assembly, credential assembly, event set-up, registration, gift and ticket distribution, guest greeting, ticket collection, guest seating and event clean-up
- Assist in the overall management of all types of events including table games, poker, slot tournaments, golf tournaments, resort events, and off-property ticketed events
