Baker Tilly is currently seeking a Deployment Specialist to join their team. This role is integral in executing all team-related deployment responsibilities, including resource scheduling and maintaining data within resource management tools and systems. The Deployment Specialist supports Deployment Managers by preparing and compiling weekly, monthly, and ad hoc resource management reports. Key responsibilities include facilitating the scheduling process of team members of various levels and ensuring optimal resource utilization to maximize profitability. The specialist works closely with Deployment Managers across business units to allocate resources effectively and address any staffing conflicts with appropriate solutions. This position also involves managing and analyzing resource management reports, tracking utilization and forecasting hours, and identifying any inconsistencies between scheduled and billed time to ensure a fair and efficient distribution of work.

Beyond logistics and data management, the Deployment Specialist contributes to the training and development of team members by providing system training and participating in firmwide learning programs. They develop a strong understanding of business profitability concepts, including bill rates, leverage, and realization. Effective communication and relationship-building skills are critical as the specialist networks within the Resource Management teams and across various business units. They are also expected to collaborate with teams involved in talent management and flexible work arrangements to support workforce planning and performance management. This position serves as a crucial support element for new hires during onboarding and contributes to ad hoc internal projects, reflecting the collaborative and dynamic culture at Baker Tilly.

Job Duties

  • Facilitate the scheduling process of team members across all levels based on timing, travel, levels, skills, and other necessary requirements
  • work with Deployment Managers to facilitate resource allocation across all team member levels including deployment of complementary workforce personnel
  • identify and resolve potential resource allocation conflicts, escalating when necessary
  • partner with Deployment Managers to address team member questions about resource management matters
  • develop understanding of staff skills, experiences, and career goals to enable optimal client assignments
  • assist Deployment Managers with project pipeline content preparation for Weekly SL RM calls and Internal SL RM Connects
  • participate in Weekly SL RM Calls and Internal SL RM Connects, taking detailed notes and managing follow-up action items related to scheduling system maintenance
  • regularly manage and update staff data within relevant systems
  • generate and analyze Resource Management reports including availability and billable hour forecasts
  • use scheduling tools to forecast hours and monitor utilization, headcount, overtime, and travel
  • identify and escalate utilization concerns or shortfalls
  • collaborate with Delivery Managers to understand billing discrepancies
  • work with Deployment Managers to escalate utilization issues to People Managers
  • learn and develop through direct coaching and firmwide programs
  • provide system training for team members
  • utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build relationships internally
  • escalate day-to-day Resource Management issues
  • collaborate with other teams to plan for flexible work arrangements and performance management
  • serve as a resource management buddy for new hires during onboarding
  • assist in ad hoc Resource Management projects
