Job Requirements
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must maintain a permanent residence within the State of Utah
- Provide valid Utah residential address within 30 days of start date
- Able to lift 30 pounds repetitively

- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality

- Adhere to all Salt Lake County Health Department Food Code regulations
Job Qualifications
- Current Utah Food Handler Certification preferred
- One year of coffee shop, barista, or food service experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
- Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Experience with POS and cash handling
- Working knowledge of computers and tablets
- Ability to build relationships with diverse populations
- Ability to learn quickly and work effectively under pressure
Job Duties
- Daily operations of the What's Bruin coffee shop and other food services areas as assigned
- Act with integrity, honesty, and promote SLCC's mission, vision, and values
- Maintain calm demeanor during high volume periods to keep the shop running efficiently
- Anticipate customer and shop needs and deliver excellent customer service
- Take customer orders, input into POS register, and process payments
- Manage mobile order app using a tablet device
- Prepare quality beverages and food products according to recipes and standards
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Minimize waste by proper product rotation and preparation
- Work to meet or exceed sales goals through suggestive selling
- Maintain a positive and friendly atmosphere
- Form authentic relationships with customers
- Make relevant beverage and food recommendations
- Prepare customized food and beverages as requested
- Perform daily safety, cleanliness, and food safety inspections
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workspace
- Stock and rotate supplies daily
- Clean the coffee shop, equipment, dishes, and storage areas
- Complete opening and closing tasks to ensure smooth operations
