Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior event planning experience
- excellent time management skills
- strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- ability to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- proficiency in communication and interpersonal skills
- familiarity with client billing and contract management
- knowledge of records retention policies and financial processes related to event management

- proven experience as an event planner or organizer
- strong administrative and communication skills
- ability to manage multiple projects independently
- sales skills and client relationship management
- knowledge of event planning software or booking platforms
- familiarity with basic audiovisual support
- capability to work flexible hours including weekends
- understanding of legal insurance and safety requirements related to events
Job Duties
- work with groups to help plan events including room set-up production details parking coordination and basic a/v support
- oversee event contracts required deposits and final payments in accordance with company policies
- coordinate events with the Manatee Lagoon team to ensure smooth execution and necessary support
- liaise with special event planner caterers for handling decor catering entertainment transportation invitees and promotional material
- coordinate and distribute a master event calendar showing all confirmed and tentative events
- ensure compliance with insurance legal health and safety obligations in conjunction with the Center Manager
- proactively handle arising issues and troubleshoot problems on event days
- conduct pre-and post-event evaluations and reports on outcomes
- propose ideas to grow venue rental business and improve event quality
- stay informed on industry trends tourism associations and conduct market research to benchmark competitors
- track catering and vendor commission payments
- manage the center's booking platform
- work at least one day per week including weekends as manager on duty as schedule allows
