Job Requirements

  • Ability to transport event materials weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to perform duties that require stooping, bending, sitting, and standing for long periods
  • Flexible availability including holidays, weekends, and evenings
  • Ability to work in various locations and conditions
  • Required to acquire Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
  • Required to acquire Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
  • Required to acquire FBI Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
  • Willingness to work event-driven schedules

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, hotel, or event management
  • Minimum of 5 years of event managerial experience, preferably in a client service or event venue setting
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Experience in personnel management and motivation
  • Proficiency with personal computer software including Microsoft Suite and databases
  • Knowledge of event software is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask effectively

Job Duties

  • Manage, coordinate, schedule staff, and supervise special events
  • Work with internal colleagues, external vendors, and clients to execute event plans
  • Oversee internal and external event communication processes
  • Facilitate event operations and organize support staff activities
  • Supervise scheduled events to ensure smooth operations and professionalism
  • Collaborate with Special Event Leadership on staff scheduling
  • Manage and motivate staff to provide high-level customer service
  • Assist with event billing and report issues regarding event space appearance
  • Promote Carnegie Museums products and services
  • Display professionalism and empathy in all public interactions
