Job Description

Global Medical Response (GMR) is a leading provider of emergency medical services, specializing in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients in urgent need. As part of GMR's extensive family of medical response services, AMR is dedicated to responding promptly and efficiently to both emergency and non-emergency medical situations across communities. With a strong commitment to professionalism and patient-centered care, AMR has built a reputation for excellence in emergency medical transportation and support. The company prioritizes a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for patients and strives to create collaborative work environments among all health and public safety personnel. AMR emphasizes core behavioral values such as keeping care at the center, encouraging open communication, and working together to achieve the best outcomes for patients.

The Special Events Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) position located in Bronx, NY offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about providing critical medical care in dynamic event settings. Starting pay begins at $19.75 per hour and can increase based on years of experience, reflecting the company’s recognition of expertise and dedication. This role is essential within the team, as EMT-Bs respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency requests for medical assistance, conducting thorough patient assessments and delivering necessary emergency care. Professionals in this capacity are responsible for operating ambulances following safety protocols and traffic laws, maintaining comprehensive documentation of patient conditions and treatments while respecting confidentiality, and ensuring a well-stocked and orderly environment for patients. The EMT-Bs work closely and professionally with allied health personnel, public safety teams, and fellow EMTs, ensuring smooth coordination during medical responses.

Ideal candidates for this position will have a high school diploma or equivalent and hold current NYS EMT certification, as well as CPR/BLS certification. A valid state driver’s license and a clean driving record in compliance with company policy are necessary due to the requirement of driving ambulances. Additionally, passing the Physical Ability Test (PAT) is mandatory to ensure candidates can meet the physical demands of the role. While prior experience is preferred, especially within healthcare settings, the position offers a chance for committed individuals to build or advance their careers in emergency medical services. GMR’s dedication to equal employment opportunity means the company supports veterans and accommodates individuals with disabilities, fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce.

Working at AMR and within the GMR family means joining a team that values accountability, teamwork, and a passion for delivering care during critical moments. The position also offers attractive benefits, and candidates are encouraged to learn more about these options on the careers site. This role is perfect for detail-oriented, compassionate professionals who thrive in fast-paced, unpredictable environments and want to make a meaningful difference through emergency medical care.
