The position requires extensive collaboration with internal departments such as Sales, Operations, Production, Floral, Catering, Convention Management, and Purchasing, ensuring all event details align flawlessly with client visions while optimizing cost-efficiency. Additionally, the Decor Sales Manager contributes to business development through marketing efforts, lead generation, and nurturing new business opportunities.
This leadership position also includes overseeing day-to-day activities of the Social Assistant, fostering creativity and adherence to safe work standards across production and sales divisions. Job Requirements
- College degree required
- Minimum two years experience in decor design business operations and sales for special events
- Excellent communication and guest relation skills
- Knowledge of program design and development from inception through contract
- Knowledge of client development including new business development lead follow up qualifying the client proposal presentation and closing business
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
- Ability to calculate program costs percentages profit margins and perform mathematical calculations
- Must be able to sit stand stoop or bend for duration of shift
- Computer literate
- Maintain neat clean and well-groomed appearance
- Must comply with PPE requirements and safety standards
- Ability to work full time with regular attendance
Job Qualifications
- College degree required
- Minimum two years working knowledge of the decor design business operations and flowers
- Two years experience in sales for special events
- Knowledge of DMC event management or hotel service business selling of decor proposal writing and services
- Excellent communication and guest relation skills
- Knowledge of program design and development from inception through contract
- Knowledge of client development including new business development lead follow up qualifying the client proposal presentation and closing business
- Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients supplier partners and hoteliers
- Must be able to calculate program costs percentages profit margins and perform other mathematical requirements involved in proposal development and contract negotiation
Job Duties
- Provide and design all decor arrangements including linens entertainment chairs plant package illumination floral decoration and theme ideas as used by the resort in public areas outlets and banquet facilities
- Promote the sale of decor for individual guests primarily social business and write proposals
- Develop relationships and bring business in from off property locations and planners
- Handle activities and tours as well as coordinate for the client on property offerings
- Book entertainment
- Participate in site visits
- Respond to clients in a timely manner
