Job Description

Seattle Gymnastics Academy (SGA) is a vibrant and community-oriented gymnastics facility dedicated to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for children and families throughout the Greater Seattle area. Operating multiple locations including Ballard, Burien, Columbia City, Lake City, and Mill Creek, SGA has built a reputation for providing high-quality gymnastics programs categorized under Play, Learn, and Compete. The academy prides itself on offering gymnastic experiences that are accessible, enjoyable, and beneficial for participants at all skill levels, ranging from beginners just having fun to competitive athletes honing their craft.

At SGA, the Play category focuses on creative and engaging gymnastics-based activities designed to deliver memorable experiences for kids and their families. This includes hosting unique events such as Birthday Parties, Parents' Night Out, and Camps. The Special Events Coordinators within the Play department play a critical role in bringing these events to life by offering exceptional service and creating a welcoming, fun atmosphere for all participants.

The Lead Events Coach / Coordinator position at Seattle Gymnastics Academy is an exciting leadership opportunity within the Special Events division. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth execution of Play programming by guiding and mentoring a small team of junior Special Events Coaches. The Lead Events Coach is responsible for leading by example, setting clear expectations, and providing ongoing support to ensure that every event aligns with SGA's mission, core values, policies, and procedures.

Candidates who join SGA in this role will enjoy working in a stimulating, supportive environment that encourages personal and professional growth. The position requires dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive experience for all children involved in SGA’s programs. It also involves hands-on coaching duties, as the Lead Events Coach will be responsible for leading their own recreational gymnastics classes during the week, working closely with kids to promote healthy activity and skills development.

This is a role best suited for individuals who possess a genuine passion for working with children and who can serve as a positive role model. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be adept at managing both people and logistics, and demonstrate a proactive and enthusiastic approach to event coordination. Availability for Sunday and evening shifts is essential, as many special events and classes occur outside typical working hours.

Seattle Gymnastics Academy provides a comprehensive compensation package including competitive pay and a robust benefits program. Benefits include health insurance, a Health Savings Account, 401(k) with employer match, an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, paid time off, and paid family leave. SGA also offers customized training opportunities tailored to different learning styles through its SGA University courses, USA Gymnastics clinics, and in-house training sessions to support continuous growth and success in the role.

Working at SGA means becoming part of a dynamic team energized by a shared commitment to creating life-changing experiences through gymnastics. The Lead Events Coach / Coordinator will not only help facilitate this vision through excellent program delivery but will also engage with the local community by representing SGA at various neighborhood events such as parades and farmers' markets. This role offers rich opportunities for career advancement within a supportive, growth-oriented environment and the chance to make a lasting positive impact on children and families across the Seattle area.
