Job Description

Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, located in Grapevine, Texas, is a premier destination offering world-class hospitality and entertainment experiences. Part of the Marriott International portfolio, Gaylord Hotels are known for their unique blend of culture, innovation, and exceptional guest service. The resort hosts an array of events and activities throughout the year, including special experiences like ICE!, Best of Florida Christmas, and SummerFest, which attract visitors from all over the country. Gaylord Texan Resort is committed to creating an inclusive workplace that celebrates diversity and fosters talent development, where every employee contributes to providing memorable experiences for guests in an extraordinary environment.

This full-time, non-management position focuses on supporting the operation and coordination of all special events and entertainment activities at the resort. The role requires a hands-on approach to ensure the seamless execution of events, encompassing various operational aspects such as lighting, audiovisual elements, cleanliness, and system performance. The coordinator will work closely with management to provide support and assist in training staff involved in special events, ensuring all team members are well-prepared and aligned with company standards.

Apart from operational duties, the position involves interacting with guests, maintaining high standards of service, and fostering positive relationships with coworkers to support a collaborative workplace culture. This role demands attention to detail, problem-solving skills—particularly in resolving financial, inventory, and operational discrepancies—and proficiency with event-related software systems used for ticketing, retail sales, inventory, and space management. The ideal candidate embraces Marriott International's commitment to equality, inclusiveness, and professional growth, contributing to an environment where STARs—employees recognized for their creativity, entrepreneurship, and heartfelt service—thrive.

Responsibilities also include adherence to company policies, safety reporting, and upholding a professional appearance. The role requires physical activity such as standing, walking, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds. The Gaylord Texan Resort offers more than just a job; it provides a career path with opportunities for continuous learning and advancement within the expansive Marriott International family. Joining this team means becoming part of a global community passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences while growing personally and professionally.
