Job Description

Easterseals PORT Health (ESPH) is a renowned nonprofit organization dedicated to providing exceptional disability, mental health, and substance use services. Serving communities across North Carolina and Virginia, ESPH is committed to empowering individuals and strengthening communities by helping thousands of kids, adults, and families live their best lives. With more than 2,600 dedicated team members, the organization delivers over 10.2 million hours of meaningful support annually in more than 11,000 locations including homes, facilities, and community settings. The organization embodies a culture defined by inclusion, diversity, authenticity, and continuous learning, making it a supportive and dynamic place for staff and clients alike. Recognized for excellence, including accolades as Raleigh's Best Nonprofit Organization and Best Mental Health Services two years in a row, ESPH is a beacon of hope and comprehensive care in their service areas.

The Special Events & Volunteer Coordinator at ESPH plays a vital role in advancing the organization's mission through strategic event planning and volunteer engagement. This non-exempt position is an onsite, full-time role from Monday to Friday, with standard hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., though some early mornings, evenings, and weekend commitments are part of the duties due to event schedules. With a compensation range from $23.08 to $26.92 per hour, the role offers a generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid time off, a 403(b) retirement plan, and employee support programs. Reporting directly to the Director of Events & Community Engagement, the coordinator will be instrumental in organizing and executing annual special events, program-specific activities, corporate volunteer initiatives, and fundraising campaigns.

Key responsibilities encompass supporting third-party fundraising initiatives, managing logistics for stewardship activities and holiday drives, and acting as a liaison between ESPH and external partners such as universities to foster volunteer engagement. The role also involves administrative support including CRM data management, acknowledgment letter generation, and assisting the development team in various capacities. Candidates for this position should demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, proficiency with CRM software (preferably Bloomerang), Microsoft Office, and social media platforms, alongside creativity and the ability to multitask effectively. The position requires travel within North Carolina and Virginia and a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Joining ESPH as a Special Events & Volunteer Coordinator offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the community, facilitating meaningful change and growth for individuals served by the organization.
