Job Description
The Town of Little Elm, located in one of the fastest growing and most exciting suburbs in the USA, is seeking a part-time Special Event Ambassador to join its vibrant Special Events Team. The Town of Little Elm is renowned for its commitment to community engagement, progressive values, and dynamic local programming, which contribute to an enriching living experience for its residents and visitors. The team focuses on delivering professionally produced, unique special events and programs that foster community spirit and provide memorable entertainment options. As a local government employer, the Town of Little Elm promotes principles of integrity, customer service, efficiency, and innovation among its workforce, creating an environment where motivated individuals can thrive and contribute meaningfully to community life.
This part-time role does not include employee benefits but offers a remarkable opportunity to work in various outdoor event settings such as The Lawn at The Lakefront, an iconic venue hosting movie nights, concerts, farmers markets, and family-friendly activities like the Imagination Playground. The Special Event Ambassador acts as a brand ambassador representing the Town’s special events and programming, directly engaging with attendees to enhance their experience. This role requires active participation in both onsite and pre-event coordination, including working closely with vendors, managing logistics, handling social media marketing, and delivering outstanding customer service. Ambassadors also support operational aspects such as AV equipment management for event productions, ensuring smooth event flow, and adhering to safety protocols.
The ideal candidate for this role is highly motivated, demonstrating Little Elm’s core values by showing professionalism, efficiency, and innovative thinking in a fast-paced environment. This position involves leadership opportunities, including potentially serving as a lead ambassador responsible for training and supervising peers during events. Candidates should be comfortable working in variable weather conditions and adaptable to different event venues ranging from outdoor festivals to waterpark activities. With a focus on community engagement, the Special Event Ambassador helps gather community input for future programming, creating a collaborative atmosphere between the Town and its residents.
The role requires excellent communication skills to interact effectively with a diverse range of individuals, including residents, visitors, vendors, and event leadership. The successful ambassador will take ownership of managing vendor relationships, from recruitment to onsite coordination and conflict resolution, ensuring all parties comply with event rules and maintain a positive environment. This position demands a hands-on approach in physical tasks such as setting up and breaking down equipment and transporting materials safely to support event success. Those hired will demonstrate the ability to follow written and oral instructions, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and use technology for marketing and AV needs.
Working in this position demands reliability, as the ambassador must be available for weeknight and weekend shifts corresponding with scheduled special events. Individuals passionate about event planning, community involvement, and outdoor recreational programming will find this role both rewarding and engaging. The Town of Little Elm fosters an inclusive work environment, ensuring nondiscrimination and equal opportunity for all applicants. Joining this team means becoming an integral part of a forward-thinking municipality dedicated to enhancing community experiences through top-quality special events and programs.
