Job Description

The Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center is currently looking to hire a Special Events Set-up Associate to join their team, a non-exempt position with a pay grade of 201 and hourly pay ranging from $17.00 to $19.44. This role is instrumental in managing the logistics of various events hosted by the center. The Special Events Set-up Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of community events by overseeing the assembly, setup, and breakdown of event venues. The ideal candidate should possess a strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively within a team. Working in a fast-paced environment, this role demands excellent time management and problem-solving skills to handle on-the-fly adjustments. Additionally, the position requires adherence to safety guidelines to guarantee a secure and clean event environment for all participants.

Responsibilities include coordinating with event coordinators to understand the specific needs and details of each event, effectively communicating with vendors, and managing event equipment such as stages, chairs, tables, lighting, and decorations. The associate will also assist with loading and unloading materials, perform minor repairs when necessary, and help maintain inventory control of event supplies. Safety awareness and the ability to direct attendees during emergencies are critical aspects of the role, ensuring that all events run smoothly and without incident. Job Duties

  • Assemble, set up and break down event equipment such as stages, tables, chairs, decorations and lighting
  • coordinate with event coordinators to understand event details and requirements
  • ensure all setup tasks are completed on time and to the specification of the event planner
  • maintain a clean and safe environment before, during and after use and report any damages as needed
  • assist with loading and unloading event materials and equipment
  • follow all safety guidelines to ensure the safety of staff and event attendees
  • help direct event attendees in case of an emergency
  • perform minor repairs on event equipment as needed
  • assist in inventory management and control of event materials and equipment
