Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Must possess fundamental knowledge of the Baker Audio Phone/Radio System
- Ability to multitask and maintain composure during stressful times
- Understanding of current emergency medical terminology, fire/rescue radio codes and signals, FCC rules and regulations, and FAA regulations relating to EMS
- Working knowledge of UHF/VHF radio equipment, portable radios, and radio recording devices
- Basic computer skills and ability to operate multiple phone lines
- Current Florida EMT Certification or Florida Paramedic License or NREMT Certification (with required conversion to Florida licensure)
- Or Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification/Public Safety Telecommunicator with one year of EMD experience
- Less than one year of experience in a healthcare or EMS communication setting
- Preferred previous dispatcher experience
- Preferred NAACS Certification

Job Duties
- Monitor EMS communications to ensure clear and effective transmission
- Provide safe launching and flight following of TraumaOne helicopters
- Coordinate communication for any helicopter requesting use of the UF Health Jacksonville helipad
- Operate and manage Baker Audio Phone/Radio systems
- Maintain understanding and use of emergency medical terminology and fire/rescue radio codes
- Adhere to FCC and FAA regulations related to EMS communications
- Operate UHF/VHF radio equipment, portable radios, and radio recording devices
- Utilize basic computer skills and manage multiple phone lines simultaneously
- Maintain composure and multitask effectively under stressful conditions
