Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Current licensure or certification as EMT-Paramedic in assigned state
- Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill basic IV therapy state requirements
- Completion of FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training
- Minimum two years clinical or hospital experience
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of recognized educational nursing program
- Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment as EMT-Paramedic
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years clinical or hospital experience
Job Duties
- Determine donor eligibility including management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE)
- Evaluate donor reactions occurring at the facility following SOPs for medical emergencies, develop Center Physician's standing orders and manage donor transport to emergency care
- Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on unacceptable findings or complex medical/technical issues
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable
- Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation by occupational health or emergency room, comply with EHS guidance
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, support investigations related to pandemic threats
- Provide center-level support for environmental, health, and safety initiatives
