Job Description

Leidos is a nationally recognized industry and technology leader dedicated to serving government and commercial customers through smarter, more efficient digital and mission innovations. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, Leidos employs approximately 47,000 people globally and reported annual revenues of around $16.7 billion for the fiscal year ending January 3, 2025. The company is highly regarded for its commitment to innovation, quality, and customer focus, which allows it to lead in sectors including defense, aviation, health, and space exploration.

Within Leidos, the Cargo Mission Contract (CMC) represents an essential initiative focused on the development and certification of spaceflight hardware. These efforts support NASA's Johnson Space Center operations and include contributions to the International Space Station (ISS), Orion spacecraft, Human Landing System (HLS), Gateway lunar outpost, Exploration Habitat Program (EHP), and other exploratory projects. Located onsite in Webster, Texas, this role functions as an integral part of the CMC team responsible for overseeing sustainable hardware operations such as diagnostics, tools, stowage, restraints, laptops, and cameras. The team collaborates using various software platforms including IBM Maximo, Microsoft Project, MS SharePoint, and custom-developed CMC software solutions.

The position of Project Manager at Leidos within the CMC team entails managing complex hardware development projects designed to certify, flight-configure, and deliver cutting-edge equipment for NASA's ambitious space missions. The Project Manager will be tasked with creating and maintaining resource-loaded schedules using Microsoft Project Professional, developing detailed basis-of-estimates (BOEs) to justify budget expansion for on-contract growth, and reviewing critical project documentation including work orders, non-conformance reports, designs, presentations, and trade studies. The role requires close interaction with multidisciplinary teams and customers, ensuring alignment with engineering standards, NASA processes, and quality assurance protocols.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range from $59,150 to $106,925, aligned with the candidate's experience, qualifications, and responsibilities. The incumbent must be prepared to provide support during tests and other project-related activities, which may include hours beyond the typical work schedule. Additionally, candidates must be eligible to pass a Public Trust background investigation and hold U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status as mandated by contract requirements.

Leidos fosters a high-performance culture characterized by innovation, agility, and a refusal to accept the status quo. The company is committed to creating an inclusive environment where employees are encouraged to disrupt conventional approaches and drive forward bold solutions in space hardware development. By joining the Leidos team in this capacity, professionals will be positioned at the forefront of space exploration technology, contributing to projects that push the boundaries of human capability in orbit and beyond. The role offers substantial opportunities for career growth, engagement with leading-edge technologies, and involvement in mission-critical efforts supporting NASA's pioneering objectives.
