The Space Planning Coordinator role at Airbus Americas, Inc. is pivotal in ensuring the efficient use of space and resources across the Mobile manufacturing campus and related offsite facilities. Reporting on first shift from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, the individual in this position will play a multifaceted role that combines event planning, space planning, and facility management. The coordinator will be instrumental in organizing corporate events, managing room and furniture layouts, and facilitating smooth interactions between departments for various occupancy projects.

This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who can navigate the complex needs of event coordination and space planning. The Space Planning Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate space data, assisting with headcount growth projections, departmental reorganizations, and implementing workplace solutions that enhance operational efficiency. This individual will also serve as a liaison between vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, managing communication and ensuring that event logistics and facility requirements are met with precision.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design, industrial design or related field preferred
  • High school diploma with 3 to 5 years relevant experience
  • 3 to 5 years experience in event planning, space planning or coordination
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design, industrial design or related field preferred
  • High school diploma with 3 to 5 years of experience in space planning, CAFM, tenant occupancy programming, and facility management services
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in event planning, space planning or coordination
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Financial skills including budgeting and report creation

Job Duties

  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors and customers
  • Planning event details including furniture setup, room availability, food service, and guest coordination
  • Processing invoices promptly and overseeing budget tracking
  • Managing events and resolving potential issues
  • Maintaining knowledge of diverse event needs
  • Serving as main contact for FMRE with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Developing workplace solutions for headcount growth and departmental reorganizations
  • Administering occupancy data collection and performing complex analysis and facility planning
  • Leading furniture test-fits and workplace usage solutions
  • Assisting with migration and phase planning of large-scale occupancy projects
  • Maintaining accuracy of occupancy data and ensuring management expectations are met
  • Recommending and managing initiatives to improve service delivery with a focus on cost and quality
  • Other assigned duties
