The role of Sous Chef – Sportsbook & Bar at PENN Entertainment plays a critical part in ensuring the success of the culinary operations within a high-volume, fast-paced sports bar kitchen. Reporting to senior leadership, the Sous Chef supervises and assists the culinary team in maintaining consistent food quality, menu execution, and compliance with safety and sanitation standards. This hands-on leadership role involves active participation in food preparation, staff training, and team development, all geared toward delivering an outstanding guest experience. The Sous Chef provides daily guidance and supervision to kitchen staff, focusing on operational goals, performance monitoring, and profit objectives.
This position requires adherence to scheduling, budget compliance, and cost control practices. Job Requirements
- Associate degree in culinary or related field
- minimum two years culinary experience
- minimum one year supervisory experience
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- flexibility to work holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime
- ability to write reports and procedure manuals
- ability to present information to groups
- strong mathematical computation skills
- ability to interact with guests and resolve conflicts diplomatically
