Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food service experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food preparation and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • Six months to one year related experience and/or training
  • Experience in food service within hospitality, country club, or senior living settings preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to follow recipes and maintain production records
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and resident dignity

Job Duties

  • Prepares and cooks meals for residents under the direction of Food Service Director
  • Provides high quality dining service considering resident preferences and special dietary requirements
  • Assists Food Service Director in all phases of kitchen management
  • Maintains professional appearance and manner while on duty
  • Ensures a safe and sanitary environment for staff and residents
  • Contributes to improving community relations and public awareness
  • Maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality
  • Reports incidents and safety hazards promptly
  • Supports resident-centered activity programs as directed
  • Supervises and assists staff in meal production and quality assurance
  • Ensures safe food handling procedures and proper food labeling and storage
  • Assists in menu planning, recipe development, and controlling food and labor costs
  • Monitors kitchen equipment maintenance and reports malfunctions
  • Controls overproduction, waste, and theft of products
  • Maintains accurate daily production and cost records
