Job Requirements
- associate's degree or equivalent
- six months to one year related experience
- food service experience preferred
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- strong communication skills
- ability to work in a team
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- physical ability to perform kitchen duties
- flexibility to work varied shifts
Job Qualifications
- associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- six months to one year related experience and/or training
- food service experience in hospitality, country club, or senior living preferred
Job Duties
- prepares and cooks meals for residents under direction of food service director
- maintains professional appearance, manner, and approach while on duty
- works to promote a safe and sanitary environment for staff, residents, and visitors
- contributes to improving community relations and public awareness
- maintains confidentiality
- ensures high-quality service delivery to residents
- reports incidents and safety hazards to food service director
- shares responsibility for safety and well-being of residents and personnel
- participates in departmental and community meetings
- supports resident-centered activity programs
- supervises and assists staff in meal production
- conducts quality assurance testing
- supervises safe food handling procedures
- monitors food labeling and storage
- cooks food according to menu and number served
- assists in menu planning and recipe development
- helps maintain staffing goals
- orders supplies and keeps records
- maintains preventative maintenance for kitchen equipment
- reports equipment malfunctions
- assists with food, labor, and supply cost control
- controls overproduction, waste, and theft
- maintains daily production records
