- Six months to one year related experience and/or training
- Food service experience in hospitality, country club, or senior living industry preferred

Job Duties
- Prepares and cooks meals for residents under the direction of Food Service Director
- Responsible for providing high quality dining service that considers resident preferences and special dietary requirements
- Assists Food Service Director in all phases of kitchen management
- Maintains a professional appearance, manner, and approach while on duty
- Works to promote a safe and sanitary environment for staff, residents, and visitors
- Contributes to improving community relations and awareness
- Maintains confidentiality
- Ensures high-quality service delivery to residents
- Reports resident and employee incidents, identifies hazards, and assists in timely corrective action
- Shares responsibility for residents' safety and well-being
- Participates in departmental and community meetings and projects
- Supports resident-centered activity programs
- Supervises and assists staff in meal production using recipes and production records
- Conducts quality assurance tests for menu items
- Supervises safe food handling
- Monitors proper labeling and storage of all foods
- Cooks food quantities according to menu needs
- Assists in menu planning, reviewing and revising menus
- Develops and maintains recipes adhering to food cost and quality standards
- Assists in staffing goals adherence
- Orders supplies and maintains records
- Helps maintain kitchen equipment maintenance program
- Reports equipment malfunctions
- Assists in controlling food, labor, and supply costs
- Controls overproduction, waste, and theft
- Maintains accurate daily production records
