This impressive destination is an integral part of a much larger $1.25 billion vision aimed at revitalizing the Arlington stadium district. The expansive project features a new Rangers ballpark, over 200,000 square feet of top-tier restaurants, retail, and entertainment venues, a full-service 300-room convention hotel, 35,000 square feet of modern meeting and convention space, and a versatile 5,000-capacity outdoor event pavilion.
Within this vibrant setting, the role of the Sous Chef is critically important. The Sous Chef will contribute to maintaining the exceptional culinary standards that Texas Live! prides itself on. This position requires a proactive leader capable of assisting with the day-to-day culinary operations of the venue while adhering to company policies and guidelines. The Sous Chef role not only demands technical culinary expertise but also involves overseeing kitchen staffing levels, ensuring the maintenance of a professional company image, and upholding cleanliness and uniform standards. This ensures consistent, high-quality food preparation and customer service that aligns with Texas Live!'s world-class reputation.
The responsibilities extend beyond food preparation to include careful control of back-of-house food costs through astute ordering, effective weekly inventory management, and review of financial reports to optimize operations. The Sous Chef is also charged with ensuring a safe working environment, minimizing risks of injury or accidents, and maintaining compliance with health department regulations. Recruitment, interviewing, hiring, supervising, motivating, and training staff are key facets of the role, ensuring a well-organized, efficient, and motivated kitchen team.
Candidates must demonstrate leadership by example and actively mentor new team members, fostering an atmosphere of collaboration and professional growth. The role requires working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. An ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, impeccable time management, and organizational competencies, underscoring their ability to manage a high-volume kitchen effectively. Overall, the Sous Chef position at Texas Live! offers a unique opportunity to join a top-tier hospitality district within a fast-paced, exciting environment shaped by sports and entertainment.
