The Culinary Supervisor role at LifeWorks Restaurant Group is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing the production, preparation, and presentation of food in designated culinary units. This role demands a proactive leader who can effectively manage culinary operations ensuring consistent quality and adherence to food safety standards. The Culinary Supervisor will directly supervise kitchen teams, manage inventory levels, address discrepancies, and maintain rigorous sanitation standards. The position also entails comprehensive staff management duties including interviewing, scheduling, training, mentoring, and discipline, fostering a supportive and high-performing work environment.

Job Requirements

  • Two to three years of experience in a related culinary position
  • Two to three years of post-high school education, preferably a culinary degree
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
  • Experiential knowledge required for management of people and/or problems
  • Excellent oral, reading, and written communication skills
  • Willingness to be hands on with staff and operations
  • Willingness to work event-based hours including evenings and weekends

Job Duties

  • Supervise and participate in the production, preparation, and presentation of all foods for assigned units
  • Ensure sufficient inventory is maintained, record deliveries, address discrepancies, and assist with storage
  • Maintain proper handling of food products and kitchen equipment to adhere to food safety and kitchen standards
  • Uphold cleanliness and high sanitation standards at all times
  • Interview, schedule, train, develop, coach, and counsel staff
  • Resolve problems and provide open communication
  • Recommend discipline as appropriate
