Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Minimum 3 years in a similar supervisory role in banquet, hotel or convention setting
  • State issued Health Certificate and necessary immunizations
  • Serve Safe certification
  • Ability to work flexible event-driven schedule including nights and weekends
  • Must be able to stand for long periods
  • Physical capability to lift, push, pull or carry heavy objects
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of food safety and health regulations
  • Proficient with computer software including MS Word, Excel, Outlook

Job Duties

  • Supervises all line set-up, prep and breakdown activities
  • Supervise buffet, beverage, break, and carving table set-up and breakdown including equipment preparation
  • Assist Executive Chef with kitchen record keeping, food inventories and ordering
  • Organize employee work schedules ensuring appropriate coverage
  • Measure, mix and cook ingredients according to recipes
  • Use kitchen equipment to prepare and serve food
  • Maintain clean kitchen environment ensuring no food debris remains
  • Provide training, mentoring and on-going assistance to kitchen staff
  • Ensure food quality, consistency, portion control and kitchen timings are met
  • Monitor kitchen safety and food safety standards compliance
  • Attend every event including baseball, soccer, and holiday games
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and subordinates
  • Make decisions, solve problems and prioritize work efficiently
  • Document personnel discipline and collaborate with Human Resources
  • Perform other duties assigned by Executive Chef
